Come for the view.
Stay for the feeling.

Come for sal forests, grasslands and the anticipation of a quiet wildlife encounter. Plan Corbett around a confirmed reserve permit, then leave time for the Kosi landscape and the region’s conservation history.

A sense of placeJim Corbett, beyond the postcard.

Sal forest and grassland make Bijrani an appealing landscape for a permitted safari. Visit with the required authorised arrangements and enjoy the habitat as much as any sighting.

Book the correct zone and date; wildlife encounters cannot be promised.

Things to do in Jim Corbett

Less ordinary.
More memorable.

Follow your curiosity. Choose a little adventure, a local story, or a slower way to spend the day.

Seated · uneven tracks

Take a permitted safari

Travel with the authorised vehicle and guide assigned to your booking. Look for birds, deer, tracks and changes in habitat; a tiger sighting is always a possibility, never a promise.

Gentle · route-dependent

Go birdwatching near the Kosi

Arrange a local guide for birdwatching at suitable accessible spots outside the reserve. Bring binoculars and enjoy patient observation without approaching nests or disturbing wildlife.

Gentle · check access

Explore conservation history

Visit the museum at Kaladhungi to give the landscape a human and historical context. Allow time to read displays rather than treating it as a quick stop.

Safari-based · rules apply

Try thoughtful wildlife photography

Use a permitted camera to observe from your authorised position, with the guide’s advice. Frame forests and grasslands as well as animals, and follow current device restrictions.

Activities are subject to weather and local availability. Separate bookings and charges may apply.

Good to know before you go

A little planning.
A better holiday.

Choose the right season, a convenient base and a comfortable pace. Our team can help shape the stay around you.

When to visit

Winter and spring are useful starting points for planning. Reserve zones follow different access calendars, and rain can change entry at short notice. Check the official portal for your exact dates before arranging a stay.

Getting there & getting around

Ramnagar is the usual rail and road gateway for the zones featured here. Match your transfer to the gate printed on the permit; Corbett has multiple entrances and a town arrival does not mean immediate reserve access.

Choosing your base

Ramnagar offers a practical arrival base; the Dhikuli and Kosi-side area suits a quieter setting outside the reserve. Choose around your actual safari gate. Forest rest-house stays inside the reserve require separate official arrangements.

Book against current rules

Use corbettgov.org and read the latest zone notices before paying. Carry a printed permit and original valid identity documents matching the booking; access and bookings remain subject to reserve rules.

Prepare for phone restrictions

The reserve’s current notice prohibits mobile-phone use in tourism zones and asks visitors to leave phones at their accommodation or deposit them as directed. Recheck the notice before your safari.

Know which landscape you are visiting

The museum, Garjiya temple and Kosi-side outings are outside the safari zones. Sitabani is also outside Corbett Tiger Reserve; an excursion there should not be presented as reserve entry.

Let wildlife remain wild

Remain with your authorised safari arrangements and follow the guide. Walking or trekking inside the reserve is prohibited; never feed animals or seek closer encounters for a photograph.
